This picture must have been taken during the beginning days of the fair, because I don't remember ever running into a crowd of this size during the middle and ending days of the fair.
Welcome to my new blog about the 1984 Louisiana World's Fair held in New Orleans. About the site- As a young teen during 1984 I was excited about the World's Fair coming to New Orleans. I would read every article that came out about the Expo before it opened and on opening day I watched the non-stop coverage that aired on WDSU. It wasn't long before I got to go and when I did I was hooked. Even though I lived about an hour and half away, I went there a lot. I went so much that I bought a pass for the Expo so that I didn't have to worry about coming up with the money everytime I went. Everytime I went, I discovered new things to do, whether it was just to hang out and watch the people, or ride the monorail non-stop, or ride the gondolas over the Mississippi River, or just take my time and visit all the country's expos in the fair there was always something to do and I was never bored. Since I didn't take the time to take pictures or video of my time at the fair, all I have are my memories. In this blog, I will post pictures, videos, stories, and whatever else I can find that relates to the 1984 Louisiana World Expo. I am depending on user contributions to help this site grow, so if anyone has any photos, videos, or stories that they would like to share, please contact me. Until then, enjoy the memories...
